Honor our Nation’s Veterans this November!
Veterans Day is November 11th

The Indiana Hospice-Veterans Partnership (HVP) encourages all end-of-life care organizations to thank those who have sacrificed for our country this November. As many of you already know, November is also National Hospice Month. The Indiana HVP has created outreach documents with ideas for events and presentation materials for talking with veteran groups in your community.

Did you know that most veterans have never been thanked for their service? Veterans make up 66% of the total male population ages 65 and over in Indiana. We believe educating veterans on their end-of-life choices is very important and that’s why we have created all the outreach materials for you! Please look through these resources and implement one of these ideas in your community. The Indiana HVP encourages you to modify the resources to your own individual organizations.

Flag Pin Order Form

• Flag Pins are a great, inexpensive way to show appreciation to Indiana veterans. They may be handed out during parades or other public events, at VA medical centers, and to your own veteran patients, employees, and volunteers. We encourage pinning the flag pin onto the veteran yourself when thanking them. This adds a more personal touch.
• The Flag Pins are attached to a card with Indiana HVP contact information and has room for organizations to attach their logo sticker.

  End of Life Care for Veterans of Indiana
• As part of the Say You Care: Start the Conversation materials, this document provides an overview of end-of-life choices for veterans. It includes: veteran statistics, steps to enroll in the VA system, and contact information for all VA facilities in the state.
• IHPCO has a limited number of this document in color. The document(s) are free, but the receiver must pay shipping. Please contact Jenny Montgomery with order requests.
